Highlighting the social and cultural value of the plants in our history through outreach.
Plants constitute a key element in our evolution. Nevertheless, the survey of the plants at the past often stays out of the historical record. To surpass this, we are developing outreach activities within the framework of several projects related to the study of archaeobotanical registries on energetic practices of the past and ethnoarchaeology of fuel among communities Masai (Tanzania) and Veddah (Sri Lanka).
As a part of these actions, we seek to design and produce educational materials on archaeobotany and ethnobotany for distinct educational levels and provide a resource that will be implemented in our country as well as in those communities where we are carrying out research. One of our main objectives is to create an educational resource for schools, museums and botanical gardens with which we seek to connect society with the environment and the cultural value of the plants.
